The Dundee Wine Library

Our Story

Henry & Araminta Miller, owners of the Dundee Wine Library

The vineyard being planted in 2017

The Dundee Wine Library makes its home on the beautiful Jory soil in the Dundee Hills AVA. This small family owned winery is operated by Henry and Araminta Miller, both Willamette Valley natives. They have a young vineyard and source much of their fruit from several renowned vineyards in the surrounding AVAs. In addition to the vineyard, winery, estate tasting room, and elegant Bed & Breakfast, they are proud to announce their new McMinnville Tasting Room is open to the public.

As wine enthusiasts, the Millers were always intrigued by Wine Country. While they resided in Portland for many years, their wine club memberships throughout the Willamette Valley constantly brought them out of the city and into the rolling hills. After a three year quest to leave city life behind, the Millers purchased their property in November of 2015. They found their new home nestled deep in the Dundee Hills, with a plan to enjoy the fruits of the valley and lovely people within it. Their passion for the diverse tastes of Northwest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay made this a perfect location for their launch into the Oregon Wine industry.

The Millers have acclimated enthusiastically to country life, raising a greenhouse full of plants, tortoises, goats, cats, and of course, a vineyard dog.The seasonal food grown in the garden is worked into dishes prepared for tastings and events at the Estate. While relatively new to the industry, the Millers have been captivated by the willingness of veteran colleagues who have openly shared their successes and failures in an effort to support the accomplishments of neighbors. Early on, they relied upon their relationship with winemaker Jesus Guileen. Jesus was crucial in the foundation of the Dundee Wine Library, as he taught the Millers how to own and operate the winery, craft wine, and build strong industry connections. Unfortunately, Jesus passed away one year after the establishment of the Dundee Wine Library. The Millers mourned the loss of their new business partner. Thankfully, good fortune brought them to Thibaud Mandet, a French winemaker who resides in the Eola Hills. Thibaud has been influential in the development of the Dundee Wine Library label, custom crush projects, and industry development.

In 2019, the Millers believed the Estate winery could use a smaller, more accessible tasting room in Dundee, OR. This successful tasting room in the Dundee Hotel became a popular location for guests to enjoy wine. Their Dundee tasting room was a fantastic launching point to prepare them for their next endeavor, McMinnville, OR.

In late 2023, the Millers signed a lease for a tasting room on Third Street in McMinnville. They are thrilled to be among fantastic businesses, shops, restaurants, and other tasting rooms. McMinnville is an eclectic town, full of character and community. The Millers and staff of the Dundee Wine Library have been warmly welcomed by neighbors and community members. From guests wine tasting to local business partners, every visitor has eagerly welcomed the Dundee Wine Library. Visit McMinnville, the McMinnville Downtown Association, and the McMinnville Chamber of Commerce have been a huge source of encouragement throughout the move. The Millers are looking forward to becoming an active participant in local events and organizations in the city of McMinnville.

Although they are waiting for window signage, the McMinnville Tasting Room is open seven days a week. No appointments are necessary at their new location. If you find yourself wandering down Third Street searching for delicious wine, you will be warmly welcomed in their new tasting room. Cheers!

Our Winemaker

Thibaud Mandet was born in Auvergne, in the center of France, a land of mostly extinct volcanoes, great cheeses and world famous rubber treads, Michelin tires. He earned a degree in organic chemistry, then moved on to study the more interesting field of wine chemistry in Champagne and Bordeaux. After learning how to make red, white and sparkling wine, he traveled to Texas and Corsica before landing in Oregon at Willakenzie Estate in the spring of 2000. In 2017, he decided to start his new brand and plant his own vineyard “Clos Griotte” in the Eola Hills.

Thibaud is passionate about Pinot Noir and very excited to start collaborating with the Dundee Wine Library. Thibaud shares Araminta and Henry's commitment to producing top quality wines by gentle nurturing of the vineyards.
